Been working on a family of Mute Swans at the local lake on and off as the young from last year are still around but not for long as the resident pair are getting ready for the breeding season and are starting to show alot of aggression towards them and any daft photographer thats stupid enough to get in the water. This Male is heading straight towards me in a very threatning manor.
Canon EOS 1D MK11, 500mm lens, F6.3, 1/500, ISO 200.

That has to be one of the very best swan photographs I've ever seen - great lighting, superb water and colours and the aggressive symmetry are just perfect.

Hi Danny,
Another one of your high standard shots eh! This is an absolutely cracking image of a well photographed subject - you have certainly taken this to another level (that extra element). It does look like he is charging the red flag! The lighting really creates the mood doesn't it. As everyone has said great symmetry. Well done!

Wonderful shot with great light and a well chosen low POV!
Also i would like to congratulate you on your victory in the IWP awards! I loved that shot of the Plover and the Knots!

Beautiful colour and balance. Top drawer shot from a photographer right on top of his game.
That prize-winner - outstanding. Eric

Hello Danny.
Beautiful shot and great POV.
I,m going to get shot for this but I have a tiny tiny nit. Theres a bright out of focus feather to the left side of the Swans neck. Now I've noticed it I keep looking at it. It might just be me but I feel it would be better with out it.
