A couple of comments I got in this forum on my last post(Klamath Redtail)made me realize how valuable critiques are from non wildlife photographers are. Thanks!....Maybe I'll stop being shy about commenting on all of the landscapes and other stuff posted here.
Anyways, it snowed like mad last weekend and I blew everything off to go shoot on Monday.
Canon 10D, 300mm+1.4 extender and a monopod, almost full frame.

That's a lot of snow! I like the patterns the branches make in the snow. The contrast of the Mourning Dove against the snow and branches is great. That dove must have found the one spot that was available among those branches for perching (the snow got the other spots)...

I find Mourning and White-winged Doves to be subtly attractive photographic subjects, and those branches really add an interesting dimension Dan, I like it. (If only the dove had been a little more cooperative and moved down to where they were all in focus .) I would be tempted to crop so that the dove filled a much larger portion of the frame, but keeping enough branches for the interest they add.
And yes, do comment on the landscapes. We all have our own unique paradigm, and all feedback is valuable IMHO.

Hi Dan,
I am probably the last person you will ever see a bird photo from....I have no patience for this kind of stuff..I can, however, appreciate nice photos of birds and you do take some great one!
on this one I would like to see the snow more white and a bit brighter while keeping the bird the color that he or she is.....the overall scene seems a bit dull and needs a bit more brightness!
