Hello,
I'm sorry and I know this is kind of repetitive but, will a Sigma teleconverter retain the autofocus feature on a Sigma 50-500mm lens? I have a 170-500mm Sigma and it will not autofocus with the Sigma teleconverter. Thank you.

Ryan,
If you go to Sigmas web site they had a tele converter chart. The chart states that the 50 - 500 will work in MF mode. I did not see the 170 - 500 listed. Hope this helps.

Ryan, Richard is right, but my suggestion would be to wait until later today!

You can try taping three pins on the TC to 'fool' the camera into activating the AF with that lens.
See this tips page for a link to an image that shows you which pins to tape.

Thank you. I tried the taping trick but would not autfocus fully. However, I have been shooting manually with the lens and teleconverter but I'm not really sure if the quality is compromised. Has anybody else shot with a Sigma 2X teleconverter? How do you think the image comes out. Thank you.
