Taken this past weekend on the East fork of the Lewis river in a downpour. I had to stand under a bridge that was about 100 feet up and really did not protect me or my gear.....Larry can attest to this!

YEP! Darren knows some of the wettest photo locations in the entire NW but they're worth every bit of the discomfort considering the images to be made under those conditions!
Another sweet shot Comp-Master! The Lewis river water is amazingly colorful for this time of year... unlike those brown muddy Tillamook county rivers. I'll buy the fuel if you want to go shooting again this weekend.

This works better for me than your other ones. I like the interest in the fg rocks.
Now, Darren, this is a great, sweeping river shot. There's more of a s-curve to the river. The waterfall off in the distance is tantalizing. Love the touches of red color in there, too, as a pleasing contrast to the winter chill. Nice going. Sure glad you and the D300 made it out without serious dunking or denting!

Works for me. I've never seen such red rock in your west side rivers, but then I don't get over there as much I would like. The color ties in well with the middle ground shrubs, and I sure wonder about that cascade. A nice, peaceful scene. You guys are the masters of the river and creek shots. I'm in awe. I would like to see what you could do in the Icicle.

Speaking from an incredible amount of inexperience, the challenge I see with winter river shots around here is too keep them all from looking too similar. I agree that the foreground rocks in this one help a lot in that regard. You've done a nice job with the mix of sharp and soft that the rocks above and below the water give.
I'm not sure about the waterfall. I like it, but it's almost a little too tantalizing and I find myself wishing I could see more of it.
