Slip-Sliding Vantage
The river plays tricks on your hearing cuz I swear I heard a muffled "Aw Shit!" while searching for my comp. Too far away to offer any help I think I saw Darren shaking off the icy dregs of foot-slippage but his D-300 looked OK so I ignored it!
20 minutes later we were shooting thru falling snow... 3 hour later and 50 miles north we challenged the rain... and won!

THis comp is just abstract enough to be pleasing.

I like this a lot.... Darren better take good care of his D-300... as much water as he shoots around !!

Uh..THanks Rick, I think? I just used a touch of the PS abstract filter on this one! At least it wasn't a boring side-river shot that Darren was busy capturing at the same moment!

Larry,
I do like this, sorry if it sounded like a stab.

Beautiful Larry. Dang, I love that country. You say Vantage, so where is this exactly? I'm not trying to steal your fishing hole, just interested because I spend a lot of time at Frenchman Coulee and have been to the Ancient Lakes a few times

No worries here Rick... I dig your style of commentary!

Marc... This is the Clackamas river about 10 miles above Estacada. (Oregon)

Whoa, that does look slippery! My personal preference leans away from the abstract, but I will say it looks technically well done. (Maybe because, despite hours of searching, I still can't find that PS Abstract Filter... .)

note: when out shooting with Larry, no help will be around....one time I saw him about 500 yards away moving his truck.....nowhere near me if I were to have been killed......Just kidding buddy!!!! I had so much dang fun that day....slip sliding and everything else we shot....rain, snow, sun, then rain again......the northwest is an amazing place.......and this shot captures it well....I love the high contrast here....perfect...

Darren... I knew you were OK since you thrive on wading the cold creeks to get the good stuff but we do have that pact in place.... he who survives to drive gets the gear but more importantly... the media card!

I really like this - as a literal image and abstract. Very stark, but with a couple splashes of color that bring it to life.
