I got my film back from the recent fog outing.
This one is the earliest shots and shows the most detail in the foreground. It was also my first shot with another new lens. This time a tiny 46mm front thread Fuji 125/5.6 W. This is definitely a backpacking lens, or at least it'll always be in my pack.
Provia, Fuji 125 NW, 2 stop GND

Version 2 (if there is a preference?)

Very cool (especially the fine fuji film border ) I like #2 best--more fog!

Both as pretty sweet. I'd vote for #2, it draws my eye through the image better...

Thanks Stan.
The reason I've been leaving the border is that I've been shooting these in their sleeves. I don't have a film scanner just yet (I will resolve this soon) and I don't want to damage the slides now. If I were to crop out the section where you see the lines from the sleeve, then the image would not be in the correct aspect ratio. If I crop out the film border, the sleeve lines stand out really bad.
I also noticed in #2 that I must have had the darkslide partially into the holder on the left. Oops. Still getting used to this process. Luckily there is room to crop.

That's a tough choice, Mel.
I think I like the additional fog in #2 better.
You did a good job adding that film border in PS.

I'm going against the grain -- I like #1 better. I think the lighting looks better and I like the layering of foreground and fog in that shot. Both are really nice, excellent shots!

Very nice Mel! I think I agree with Paul though and #1 gets my vote on the "less is more" principal. Fine work on both!

Both very nice. I vote for #1 since i like the better separation between the layers. I think it tells a better complete story. Nice to see you are definitely getting the swing of using that beast. Great job!1

Great shots, Mel. They are both great shots, but I prefer #1 just slightly over the other.
BTW – you should monitor the film holder in which you shot this image. You may have a slight light leak. Notice the light streak on the left side of the image.
Well done.

#1 for me, I agree with Rich, it feels more complete. Glad to see you're enjoying the LF!

Really sweet shots, Mel! They're both strong. My personal preference is for #1 with the stronger layering and more detail.

Version 1, I like the warmer feel.

Mel, composition and fog are really nice in #1, but the purple cast is too strong for my taste.
