Take a bow
Some snow arrived so popped out to the park, quite like this one.

Cheers now

Hi Tim,

Lovely image. I notice the addition of a D3 to the new Tim Munsey armoury

How you finding it?

Chris.

Well I've gone manual and left Auto ISO to pick a number from 200 to 6400. Need to read up on focusing not used to having so much choice, but so far its fast and accurate. Full frame makes it easy to separate the birds from the bushes with the decreased DOF. The viewfinder is a joy to use, I know I'm going to have fun with this piece of kit. She (I've fallen in love) even has her own hat, a cover for the hotshoe .
Ah bliss.......

Good hear from you John, how's retirement? Lucky B......D!

Hi Tim,

Really like the stron colours against the white in this one.
You got some amazing DOF at F2.8 for this shot!!

Greetings,

An all to common subject however the pose and the environment make this one quite exceptional. I'd call it a darn good picture.

Stunning detail in the head feathers Tim :toast:

Be interesting to see a 100% crop from this image

Hi Tim,

Cracking shot! So the D3 is worth shedding a few grand for then? I'm still on the fence at the moment.

Beautiful lighting. The D3 looks good.

Hi, thanks for comments.
No 100% crop for you Andy you have far too much kit already .
Paul Inglis - as for a D3 being worth all that dosh, that all depends on your needs, in 6 months it'll be 700 quid cheaper I reckon.

Cheers Tim!

Thats what I thought and maybe an update just like they did with the D2X and the D2Xs. (10 months between wasn't it!)

Very nice Tim, but i have no desire for the D3... I just hope Nikon keep producing DX sensor cam's.

Hi Major,
Don't pick one up, don't look through one - very damaging to the pocket! Stay well away.
It's so liberating, I know I can shoot in really low light and still get plenty of detail, much more responsive than the D2X in every way. Loads to learn. Still a 600mm VR is a better investment, maybe....
