At Last! a male
Not being happy with the female I thought this male looks a lot better, thought about cloning out the front twig but it is as it was.

Nice bird, Brambling, right? Looks pretty clean, what ISO did you use? Shame about the perch going through the head, but its the nature of the beast i guess. Still a nice shot to have!

What type of bird is this?

It's a Brambling, and I think you made the right choice about the cloning Paul. That would have been a hell of a job, and hard to do it so it wouldn't be noticed.

Hi Laurie the bird is a Male Brambling one of our winter visitors from Scandanavia.
Paul the ISO was at 200 as my D2 is awful upwards of this!
Peter I think your right would have been a nightmare to do.

Hi Paul,

Nice shot! I think this could be classed as an enviro shot - nice. I don't think everything should be so neat and perfect - after all it is nature.

Hi Paul

Nice one - I'm still working with my flock which early last week peaked at over 200 but this morning I only saw approx 70. I'm worried now that they will go before I get to take the images I want!
