Great Northern Diver
Nothing much to do here today with this horrible weather so I thought I'd post another shot of this Diver taken last Sunday. I like this one as it shows the bird making its way towards me rather than the usual shot of it going in the opposite direction

40D, 500f4, 1.4x on a skimmer, iso200, 1/640, f/11, -1/3EC.

Thanks

Hi Paul

Another wonderful shot of a GND love the eye contact and small 'bow' wave in front of the bird. Also nice to see one swimming toward the camera!

Hi Paul,

Lovely shot! Indeed it is nice to see one swimming towards rather than scurrying away as usual. It hasn’t been nice today has it? I’ve had force gale winds, rain, sleet, hail – whatever next (Whoops, maybe I shouldn’t have tempted faith!). I feel for those in the RNLI in this weather! (I hear the rocket going most nights).

Yes I like the bow wave too gives it a dynamic feel, good one.

Stunning shot, one question what is a skimmer?
