Female Ruddy Duck
Canon 1D2n, 300mm f4 x1.4, 1/640s, f8, iso 200, first light. Fair crop. Minor processing.

I haven't yet seen a male, and wish he would turn up as I'm sure he will be more colourful. Critique always welcome.

Like the low angle and the colours you've got. Hope she doesn't see Mr Duck - that'd likely be the end of both of them. They're liable to be shot as they're not very welcome in the UK at the moment.

Most impressive for all the reasons already stated

It's already been said, but worth saying again - the warm colours in this are really nice. DoF is spot on and brings the bird out well. Not the most popular of birds, but fairly photogenic.

Absolutely charming little ducks these. I hope one day to get a shot or two of the male performing his breeding display. If I get a shot half as good as this I shall be happy.
