Ok so they are Snow Buntings, probably somewhere in the region of 16 birds in the flock but 8 was all I managed in one shot. They really do hide themselves well amongst the pebbles.

Hi Tony,

I think this is excellent. Having spent most of yesterday morning chasing Corn buntings in a car , I can only imagine what it must be like on a pebble beach! The pano crop and composition of the birds is spot on as is the colour, showing how well their plumage matches their habitat.

Where was this taken? I really would like to get some of these on file before they depart.

Regards

Rob

Fantastic capture. It took me a moment to actually see the birds. I would crop more off the sky to eliminate the light stuff, emphasising the superb colours.

Pano crop works very well as does the low shooting angle. Lots going on with a good field of view and enough DOF to render the detail in almost all of the birds. Like this a lot. :toast: :toast:

Best Snow Bunting image I've seen recently. This is INTERESTING! A nicely arranged group with no birds cut in half at the edges, one bird interacting with the camera and the centre bird presiding over it all. All complimented by the panoramic crop. Super job!
