On Monday I did a session on the tree rats - used a couple of SB800's as balanced fill - some very nice CU shots but I cocked the BG up, it looked too busy.
I went back today armed with a huge piece of tank netting to make the BG less busy, got everything set up nicely by my tree stump feeding site, got the BG looking a dream at f8 - not a bloody squirrel in sight
Such is life
After the sun started casting a deep shadow across the site I packed up and went down to the lake to see what was moving, very little as it turned out.
Best shot of the day was this cormorant who did a fly-by for me (top geezer) - the Sig 120-300 + 1.4X doesn't exactly make the best BIF lens in the world but you make do with what you have
D300
ISO 400
Sig 120-300+1.4TC @ 390mm
1/1600 @ f8
PP Bibble + CS3
Full frame.
When I came back to the car I went to put more nuts out for the squirrels and 3 of them were sitting on the stump - little GITS
Thanks for looking folks

Cracking image Andy, I take it the D300 has a firm place in your kit now?

Nice Andy, reminds me of many of my failed expeditions, i have an almost identical shot, in the same conditions... thinking about it i think it was with my sig 300 + TC too!
