A proposed date for the next (3rd) UKNP conference will be

Saturday 21st Feb 2009

unless you want something different....

It will be somewhere in the south around the Bristol/Gloucester/Bath or London Central area.

Now to some questions.

The cost of the conference per attendee is largely dictate by the cost of the venue and the speakers.
To date the conference has been an all day affair, with 2 speakers in both the morning and afternoon sessions. ie 5 sets of cost (4 speakers and 1 venue)

Would you like to

a) continue with the Sat 'all day' conference, or,
b) do a Saturday evening conference, say 6pm to 10pm with say 3 speakers.

The cost for the evening conference would be about 7/10 of the full day affair but would curtail people from possibly traveling to and from on the day. If I had of done this this year it would have cost about £20 instead of £27.50 of a member.

The flip side is that a full day conference, whilst leaving the night free for the pub, takes up a days 'light', although this year it wouldn't have as there was no light, just liquid.

Comments welcome.

I can take pics the other 364 days a year ,learning something from the speakers is worth the extra £7.50 to me.
It would be great for us here in the south to have a full day of talks equal to the quality of the last UKNP conference.
Cheers

Hi Tom,

I too would like to just have a day of talks to learn something from the speakers. Lets leave the "photo days" to the 4 or 5 meet ups we have a year.

Regards

Hi

Just to add my support to the above - I'd also like a full day... Looking forward to it already!

Hi,

The full day approach is the way to go I think.

If it was just an evening affair, it may not give as much opportunity to talk to attendees/speakers in the intervals.

Conference just past was excellent - well worth the money, and time (Well done to all involved).

I have not yet had the opportunity to come to one of these events, but as it is now going to be down south I would favour the full day,as others have said it gives more time to chin wag to other members..................

Though I missed this years I too would go with the full day. I need to learn as much as I can!

If it is down south, I will definitely attend. I think the full day would work better as most places are too busy for shooting on a Saturday anyway. If people are willing to stay overnight on the Saturday (hotel weekend rates are pretty cheap even down here) then we can do something on the Sunday - Lee Valley, Richmond Park, London Wetland Centre, Rye Meads, Dungeness, Slimbridge... :wavey:
