Taken whilst on holiday in South Africa, wonderful birds the only problem was the knowing which way to look and not making contact with the falling droppings
Comments welcome.
I really got back into photography in the last 6 months so my best wildlife images are based around the trip to South Africa. Hopefully some good UK shots soon.
All the best

Nice sharp image Ian
Comp-wise if it were mine, I'd have cropped it so that the birds eye was one third across the frame from the right, and somewhere between 1/3 and 1/2 up the frame from the bottom, giving less space on the right and at the top, and more on the left and at the bottom.
The comp would comply with 'the rule of thirds' better then - hope you've got enough in the original capture to do this as it's potentailly a very nice image
I am afraid that this image has only been cropped from the sides so there is no room to move at the bottom.
My main regret is that I only spent about 1/2 an hour at this colony and was tight with card space. Should of spent all day and kept many more photos, A wonderful subject with lots of action - displaying, next building a various stages etc
All the best

Tight on card space - whoa, there's a moral there somewhere Ian - something about 'cant have enough flash cards about your personage'!
I wise'd up to this a while back and have amassed 10x4 gig cards, 2 in the cameras and 8 in two of those Lowepro card safes - I still take crap images and I might run out of battery power, but I'll never run out of storage for a days shooting
Spend some dosh

Hi Ian
Very nice shot. I agree with Andy that a centimetre or so extra at the bottom of the image would have made it even more appealing but pretty damn nice anyway, I would say.
