While I have not paid much attention to this aspect of Adobe, I was surprised when I recieved an e-mail from them saying they were getting out of stock and providing a link to download a patch which would remove this feature from the software.

With Getty for sale and this announcement one has to wonder where stock is headed. If the distributors feel there is no money in it is it time for pros to get out of it.

Hi David,,,Stock photography has been going downhill for some time. Ever since the Mega agencies have been buying out the smaller companies prices have dropped considerably. Add to that the number of photographers in the market today things have become very competitive! However there are still several smaller companies that buy their stock direct from photographers. These companies still pay a fair price for images. I have always dealt directly with these companies and have not gone through 3rd parties. How long will these companies be available I don't know but for now its still working.

It will be interesting to watch PhotoShelter Collection. They offer 70% commission to the photographer and there is no fee to join. Does anyone know how well Digital Railroad's Marketplace is doing?

I've talked to several photogs who have been with Digital Railroad for at least one year and none of them are doing much of anything....all but one said they are not going to renew.

I have not sold a single thing in the whole time I have been with Digital Railroad. Effective and easy setup but no returns.
