Looking for choices & recomendations...
I have a 'one man show' comming up and need to get some quality prints made, without breaking the bank... I need to print around 40 photos in several different sizes..
I've been searching for a pro lab to print a fair amount of my photos for an up-coming exhibition... I'd really appreciate a few recomendations, as this will be my first venture into this area.
I will need someone who's able to do some dry-mounting as well, and want some of these photos done on canvas..

Any good sources in this area??

Thanks for your help!!

Hi Dave,

I'm not familiar with wisconsin specific labs. But I can recommend White House Custom Color, which is located in St. Paul Minnesota - www.whcc.com . While I don't print my personal work through them (I prefer to print my own work at home), the studio that I do photoshop work for prints all of their products through WHCC. Their color and print quality is has been very consistent over the last number of years, and I can only really think of one specific occasion where I felt that we got sent a lousy print (which they will replace free of charge). They offer mounting on a variety of materials, ranging from matboard and styrene (my studio's preference) to thick standout board. If you want canvas products, they offer everything from straight canvas prints, to stretcher mounted canvas prints and also gallery wraps. Prices are as competitive as I've seen virtually anywhere, and free 2 day UPS shipping is included with every order - also, if prints or mounted items get damaged during shipping, they have always been replaced for free simply by contacting them. In order to become a client, you'll need to submit 5 8x10 prints that they will make for you as test prints.

Most other details are listed in their FAQ, and in their price lists on the website. All in all, I would wager that they'd turn around your prints as quickly as somebody local, and they'll arrive straight to your doorstep. Let me know if you have any specific questions...I hope that helps!

Joel, Thanks very much for all the info on Whcc. I'm going to check their website out right now, and call them on Monday. Exactly what I was looking for!!

I'll leave feedback on how they work out for me. (or rather, how my photos print...) I have a Canon i9900 printer here at home, but haven't used it much.. No time... Maybe when I retire I can get a large format printer and go through the learning curve, but for now, I need a good lab to do that for me.
Thanks again!!
