Blasts from the Past
Not the way-distant pass, but in compiling images for a photo submission, I ran across some images that have never really seen the light of day before. These are all from the early- to mid-90s, I think.

This first one is sunrise over one of the Hancock Lakes near St. Elmo.

Here's some morning clouds rolling through Weminuche Pass.

After a vigorous storm, the wet forest and returning sun produced some low clouds in the Texas Creek valley in the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness.

(Actually, this one was taken in the early-00s, probably 2003 or 2004.)

And finally, a subtle alpenglow sunrise on Vestal and Arrow peaks in the Grenadier Range, Weminuche Wilderness.

That last one is really sweet. Its a shot I'd very much like to get. Just need to make time to get down there.

All are very nice.

The third is really sweet cropped so the blown sky is out.

The second looks a little funky in the shadows of the trees in this scan, and the sunlit peak in the back looks a little blue. Still there is data in the shot, so I think you can certainly work with it.

I think the first is Hancock also and its a nice reflection shot.

That last shot is really sweet. The others are good too, but your recent work beats the heck out of them.

Nice stuff, Todd. #4 is my fav. I really like #3, but it needs a better sky.

WOW, that Grenadier Range is impressive!

Yeah, that last one is definitely the pick of a very fine litter. The comp and colors are wonderful.

The first one is really beautiful. I also like the third... makes me want to go backpacking!

Great stuff, Todd. Are these from your MF / LF days?

Ah, once a cloudman, always a cloudman! I like 2 and 4 a lot and agree with Jack ~ it would be great to go for a ridge walk right about now. What's the distant, jagged peak in between Vestal and Arrow?

Thanks guys. Rene, these are all Mamiya RB67 images. Dave, that's awesome Pigeon Peak rearing its intimidating profile in the distance.

Todd, I see clouds followed you around even a few years ago. All nice images! The pinks in the 4th one are fantastic!!

1st and 4th do it for me! Great stuff. I keep thinking about going through the slide collection...someday. Maybe when I catch up on all the digital work

The last one is great motivation. I want to get into the Weminuche Wilderness for an extended period this summer. Thanks for sharing!
