Shortie in flight
One of over 300 images from yesterday morning at Plum Island, MA - the 3 Short-eared Owls put on a great display in the sun for the passing people and assembled photographers!

WOW! That's killer...great look!

Eyes are dead on focus, wing tips are a little blurred but who can knock that. Fantastic! :toast:

Sweet image Mark! I was going to make the almost 2 hour drive on Saturday morning, but the forecast was for snow, so I didn't bother. Now I certainly regret it!! Excellent work! :toast: :toast:

This is great and I am envious! Those eyes! Quite captivating! The eyes are sharp and yet I still feel the movement of that magnificant bird. Great capture! Well done!

Wow Mark! I don't know how I missed this one. This is stunning! Owl flight shots are a coup in the forum and you got it!! Why are they flying around in the sun/daylight?

Thanks everyone.
Christine - I think that snow and a very cold, windy previous day meant they needed to actively hunt on Saturday morning, which was beautifully calm and sunny.

Great capture Mark. Was this the Parker River Wildlife Refuge? Maybe I'll get there next weekend I hope...
