Pawtuckaway Snowfall...
I have been starting to explore the woods near the seacoast area of NH more and more to save some $ on gas. There are some great things to shoot, and I was shown a new one this morning.

I had always gone in to Pawtuckaway through Resevour road, but I went in through Nottingham this morning with a coworker on skis before dawn, and encountered this little scene.

Would love to hear thoughts...

Here's another downstream view...same location...

Jim,

I like both shots. The downstream shot I like better, probably because there is a little more light and you have the classic "S" curve of the stream as it flows onward. It was a very pretty morning with the snow coating every single branch and the bridge shot shows the delicate mosaic of the snow quite well. I am also wondering about the rock in the left foreground with the snow/ice on top of it. Was that a sign that the water was 6 inches deeper recently or was that just somekind of odd ice formation? Kind looks like a hat, upside down in the water!

Great shots Jim. The leading lines of the stream make the image.

Lovely images Jim, I really like the first one...but then I like the bright sky in the second...so I guess that means I really like them both

I like them both, Jim, but, forced to choose I would go for the first one. I also think the location is worth a revisit in different seasons..

Jim....It is always great to find some sites close by and it looks like u have done that. All the gas savings means more $ for gear  . Two nice images.

Thanks for the thoughts guys...it's simple, but I agree with calm, serene and soothing!

I left the blue cast in, but am taking thoughts on it in the M&N gallery here, 2nd shot has cast removed:

I do intend to return, as it is very close to home!!!
As for saving $ going to camera gear, that's on the back burner as I'm looking to buy a residence of some sorts. Making due with what I got...for now! :wavey:

Hi Jim!! I like both shots!! Although I think I like the first a bit better which is surprising because of the man-made bridge. The second one has a bit of a tilt.

Good luck with house plans!!!

I like them both, but the second one really POPS in ym opinion. It has a simple composition and I love the leading line. You have a great eye! I would probably change the color cast myself but this does give it a cooler feel and it certainly has been cold!

We've had some snow in the NE recently -- I think that this photo serves as inspiration to us all to get out there and photograph!
