Hi Paul - colour and detail look pretty much spot on
You've definitely got a sharpening halo especially under the bird.
If you can go back to your original or resized tiff try using CTRLACV and adding a new layer with a high pass filter and switch the layer blending mode to 'soft light' - this normally produces less halo with the added bonus that you can paint sharpening artefacts away in the high pass layer.
You could also try using my standard USM values for 720 images - 30,0.3,0 adding a single pass and then adding a new layer above and another USM pass to that and manually blending/erasing between layers when a halo developes around a particular area.
The log and moss look fine to me, but for some reason the 'coaly' looks a bit strange - as if he is NOT the point of focus. The legs, feet, wing tips and tail are the give aways - your plane of focus is a tad behind where it should be - beak, eyes and face.
But processing-wise I think this is the best image you've posted in ages - halos aside matey

Hi Paul,
Lovely image. I like this composition with a cracking perch. Nice colours and detail.

Hi Paul,
I agree with the other Paul, nice composition, nice perch, nice detail!
I'm not really a bird person, but this is a Willow tit, is it not? (Or is it a Marsh?)

Superb composition and perch - hope you manage to do something about the sharpening artefacts - the one under the breast, especially, is ruining and otherwise perfect image. Marsh Tit, I think, isn't it, though I've never actually seen one?
A nice composition here, but Andy is right the biggest problem is an apparent loss of detail in the head area which just does not seem to match the rest of the bird or image.
All the best

For what it's worth, I'd go for marsh tit. we get willows in the garden and this one looks a bit smarter than ours and the cap looks smaller; but to be honest I'm never sure and the song is the real give-away. Agree that it looks a little too sharp, but an excellent capture nonetheless. well done. Eric
