The weather at the weekend was far too good to be sat in a hide, so with big threats from the 'Boss' that we needed to get fit for the summer walking season, it was off to the Brecons and a 12 mile 'amble' from Crickhowell around Table Mountain, Pen Cerrig-calch and Pen Allt-mawr.
This is the view westwood from Pen Cerrig-calch towards the flat summits of two highest Brecon peaks, Cribyn and Pen y Fan.
Olympus E-1, 14-54 at 27mm, iso 100, 1/1600s at F4, hand-held. Cropped to 4 x 2 format
A horrible orange sulphur dioxide smog was evident from the top of the peaks giving a hard band to most of my panoramic shots from which Cribyn and Pen y Fan are just emerging.

Nice image, the E-1 still doing its stuff, i just wish the E-3 was as good IMO... If it was i'd be an oly user now.

having played with this image a bit more for printing, I think I actually prefer a B&W version?

Is that an infrared effect added to the B&W?
I have to say I prefer the colour version. Seems more dramatic. I love the peaks poking from the smog, image has a lot of depth.

Hi Mike,
Funnily enough, i was up on top of Pen-y-Fan taking some photos this weekend. Not sure if I can see myself from there though
Your photo looks good in terms of framing and composition, but I feel the fog is a bit too prevalent and high up, and because of this it's maybe lacking in detail a bit.
