I presently own a Lowepro Magnum, Lens Trekker, Slingshot 300, Photo Trekker and a Super Trekker. I hate them all except the Magnum but it is too small for a large lens. Does anyone have any recommendations for shoulder bag that’ll fit the above items in? Basically I don’t like rucksacks!
Many thanks,

I use a Tamrac 787 EXTREME SUPER BACKPACK, which fits my 500mm f4.5 plus other stuff happily.

Having found that my AW Roadrunner is too large for a plane I am buying the Lowepro Vertex 300 and will let you know what its like.

For my sins I have a Lowepro AW Trekker. Hait the thing. Over engineered. More padding than needed.
Prefer a light Lowepro two section. The bottom holds all the bits I'll need for day and the top holds lunch, waterproofs etc. Poorly designed but the best I could find.
If I need more kit then I'm not going to carry it far and so I use a Billingham.
If anyone wants a little used trekker at half price then send me a PM

Paul does the Billingham fit a 500mm in?

Sounds like you need a quad, not a bag.
Two Billy 555's (445's as well) or two LoweproStealth 650's. Either that or one of each and strong shoulders.
I use a stealth 650 for one set of kit and a Billy 555 for the other, both at times, but not if I'm walking far. The Stealth is the more practical bag in terms of number of pockets, fast access and cleanableness (???), but the Billy's strap makes it the one I reach for most of the time.
Both can carry a 500 with hood reversed and a couple of bodies and a couple of 70-200 sized lenses and a laptop and.......and........and....

For those who are interested I have decided on an MP-1 bag that I’m having especially shipped over from the states. This bag suits me right down to the ground.
1. It’ll fit into the smallest over head locker on a plane, yet carry all my gear plus extra.
2. It isn’t over engineered with padding such as the lowepro, tarmac and kata bags. Therefore reducing weight and bulk.
3. All straps can be put away so lying it down on a beach is no longer problem now. I can just have one strap out if needed.
Once I’ve tried it the field a few times I’ll let you know more!

For those of you that follow old threads!
The MP-1 is an awesome bag - field tested and it suits me perfectly - and I normally hate rucksacks. I like it so much I have an MP-3 (a slightly smaller version) as well. The MP-1 will take a 600mm plus body while the MP-3 will take either a 500mm or a 200-400mm plus a body. Both bags will take all the gear I mentioned above with room to spare. Oh my back!
