Breaking a few compositional rules I know, but there's only so much you can fit in a frame

One from this afternoon - only the Canadas' willing to play today.
I'd just spent 30 minutes in easy 800mm range of a pair of kings fishing together but it was too far for the 120-300 even with the 1.4x, so had to content myself with these guys, which was no great shame.

Left the slight cast for atmosphere!

D300
Sig 120-300mm + 1.4tc
ISO 200
1/800th @ f5 -1/3EV
HH from row boat

FF cropped to pano

PP Bibble Pro + CS3

Thanks for looking :toast: :toast: :toast:

Hi Andy,

Love the feeling of movement and the eye just clear of the wingtip. Composition not that much of a prob for me. It does look pretty dark to me though

Regards

Rob

Now that is something special of a species often ignored probably because they are so numerous, a splendid image Sir.....

Hello Andy.

Superb take off picture, love the dark background with the low light catching the bird, and helps the splashing water stand out really well.

Thanks for your help the other day. :wavey: :wavey:

Nice one Andy. It does look a tad dark, but I can see detail in the shadows on this cruddy monitor, so it's probably fine on my cruddy work monitors too  Love the head poking through the wings :toast:

Nice shot Andy , gives a real sense of movement , like the water aswell , tried this with 4 coots yesterday but failed miserably , so a good job IMO.

The low light, dark bg and splashing water make this a great picture!
