I snowshoed up the south lake rd yesterday to willow cg looking not so much for photos but to clear my head of a few things and just enjoy being outside. Of course I brought all the camera gear too, just in case I felt inspired. One of these days I gotta get a lighter tripod! ;) I wound up doing some photo but didn't really "feel" anything 'til I got to table mtn cg and saw the reflections in the stream. I knew there would be some since scoping it out last summer and the fall, but the same scene with the snow was so much better!
I got excited and worked several different ideas. The last hour I spent there at table mtn cg really put the icing on the cake to a great afternoon of being out in the sierra. Just thought I'd share a little slice of heaven. :) Thanks for looking!
Nice work, I like the reflections. I would be tempted to crop a bit from the top to simplify the scene by removing the tree line, but this is a really nice shot.

I think that is wonderful as-is. thanks for posting it!
Just flat out super, Cory. I like it all. The colorful thickets around the water edge and the BG are a real great addition to the reflective scene too.

thanks guys!
@Enrique: I like your crop idea and can see how that cleans up the bg hillside. But I'm not sure if I want to lose the top of the mg willow though. I'll chew on it.
@Paul: thanks man!
@Kyle: You're welcome!

i've heard that clarity can also be found by smoking some sort of leaf, not that I'd know. glad you found clarity in a more productive manner.

Cory,
Nothing like getting out there to clear out the cobwebs... problem is that the spiders are still there when you get back - I know. :-)
I really like this, simple and well composed. I like the warm reflection and the reds of the willows? I also like the grass breaking thru to break up the snow on the left. Very nice.

The color in the water goes well with the mostly white scene. Your composition is quite interesting and makes me want to really explore everything within the frame.
Very nice!

Thanks Anil! I've been wondering where you've been lately, preston too.

I like this a lot. Great combo of cool tones and warm tones. Very nicely composed and sweet shot.

Hi Cory,
HUmmmm..... I'm torn between the idea of the compositions?
I LOVE the reds of the willows and they give context to the scene.
Yet, eliminating the tree line DOES clean things up and seem to make it
a stronger cleaner image....So I guess it is one of those
where you could use it for BOTH purposes :D
Just depending on your needs at the moment....
Obviously, the walk was work it..
Do you give snowshoe classes?
I bought some but have not tried them yet
Kudos. Thanks for sharing....
