Not the greatest composition and lighting, but I was standing in one of the few dry spots and the park closes at sunset With all the runoff from melted snow along with the rain, much of the area around the Sangamon river here in Springfield is flooded. Normally this is a dry, hardwood forest, but now it's a temporary swamp. This area is about a quarter mile or so from the river itself- pretty impressive seeing as the Sangamon isn't exactly a huge river. I personally love huge changes like this

We had similar conditions along the Cuyahoga last week. Interesting to watch -- from uphill and at a distance!

Looks like my backyard in the Spring when it quick thaws before the ground does.. Flooding always keeps me worried living next to a river and all.. Thanks for the look see Nathaniel.. Keep your waders handy..

That's probably what a lot of areas in Southwest MI will look like once the snow starts melting this spring. Hope no one was flooded out of any houses because of this, Nathaniel. Thanks for sharing!

I was down at the Sangamon below the dam yesterday at lunch watching the birds. It has risen a lot since the picture I posted. Monday I went to St. Louis and saw the flooding along I72. Where about did you take the picture?
