While browsing a 2005 file from climbing Huron Peak, I came across a series of images that I took intending to make a composite panorama. I didn't get the result I wanted, frustrated with CS2's inability to blend the sky. Unwilling to learn anything new, the images just languished on my hard drive.
I used automerge to put the pano together again and got the results I hoped for the 1st time. So, I'm posting it just to say how fun photomerge is with CS3. New to digital then, I used a D70 and spindly gitzo with a tiny head ~ it was sure fun to recall how warm it was up there that day! This is 6 images, cropped to about 4:1, looking west towards the Elk Range.

Dave, its hard to see much of the detail that I'm sure is there in this shot, but the views in that area are outstanding. The sky does appear to be very even. Glad to see that CS3 helped you work out this problem.

Nice Dave, can we see it bigger?

My first thought was that this would look great large. I like what I see so far.
Sorry about the size, folks - I posted it larger and the site apparently downsized it to the 720 pixel limit. I pleased with how it turned, already got a print order and am always thrilled when P'shop gives us a mindless feature that works!

This is torture to see this in mid winter! Stop it!
Do you remember if you used a polarizer for these? If not, it looks like an incredibly clear day! Oh man this is what it's all about!
Mid-winter? It's not gettin' to ya now, is it mountain man? No polarizer - from what I understand, it would cause a variation from one image to the next, which is the big thing to avoid in order to get an even exposure. The sky was plenty blue anyhow. This was early July when everything was still green. Damn, it was hot that day!
