Some Ice
My first time shooting ice so any advice would be welcome.

I like the interesting shapes and patterns in the ice here Larry. Any idea what the red flecks are on the ice?

Thanks John. The specks are from overhanging brush. The irridescent glow on the middle-bottom might be from petroleum since there was nothing nearby with those colors to be reflected by the ice.

The color palette really grabs my attention here. The shapes and texture (or lack of texture) serves the image well, but the combination of colors is what really holds my attention.

Nice close up ice image Larry! The only nits I have are the one area you reference that may be petroluem, I would remove that, and the few flecks of red about mid-way on the right side.

Larry: I've shot a few ice pix; none quite like this one though. I really like the depth and rounded appearance of the inner edges. There is a little rainbow effect going on in the lower L area that's pretty cool. Ditto on the red flecks. Advice? Keep on shooting good ones like this.
