Not me - heaven forbid
Got the Big Dog back from Sigma today - or should I say a NEW Big Dog as they couldn't sort the old one out.
Eager to try it out I went for a couple of hours to my mates the Canadas again - in amongst them on a punt these guys give the biggest bang-for-your-buck entertainment-wise but not alas today the best photo-ops.
There was a sharp NE breeze blowing so those on the water were staying tight-in to the lee of the island.
The shot would be better without the BG bird and the sunlit BG - if the wind swings west they'll move out into open water - then I can get the action on 'dark' water and a more distant BG.
Still, the point was to test the new 300-800mm and, with a tweak of the AF fine tune tomorrow we'll be running on all twelve cylinders
D300
Sig 300-800mm @ 600mm
ISO 400
1/1250th @ f9 -0.7EV
WB 5400 + 700K for effect (sounds better than 'I forgot to change it from cloudy' - but I like it so it's stayed).
PP Bibble Pro and resize in CS3 and GenFrac pluggin.
Thanks for looking folks

Hi Andy great capture and nice lighting. You must have a job holding a beast of a lens like that from a boat.
