1D2n, Sigma 500/4.5 @ 4.5 1/640 iso 200, tripod.
After several years of struggling to get sharp flight shots with xxD series cameras I recently bought a 1D2n from a forum member (thanks John!). Had a trip out today to see the local Herons who were less than co-operative, but I was delighted to get this shot. I would have liked it a bit less from behind and with a bit more space in front, but I don't think I would have got anything with the 40D.
Very nice .... won't comment on the xxD's capabilty with flight shots as I'm totally useless at them anyway...
The wing position is great here and makes the image for me, for web presentation I might have been tempted to trim a little from the top
All the best, will hopefully be up in the Midlands some time during the year, be good to meet up again...

A good effort Gary. You have already pointed out the small things that would have made a good shot better. I hope you enjoy the 1DmkIIn for some time to come.

Hi Gary,
Very nice! Plenty of detail in this. I also think the wing position here really makes images.

Hi Gary,
Nice shot, you have covered your own niggles, but still very good as is. Enjoy the new toy!
