Say Aah!
I have been trying to get a picture of this guy for a while, but he has been playing hard to get. There doesn't seem to be many left around here these days, so I was pleased to get anything at all. Sadly he was frightened off by one of the local cats before he got as close as I would have liked.
C&C welcome especially on the comp. There was plenty of space around him, but I am always undecided where to put the subject when it is head on and looking straight down the lens.

Hi eric,

Nice lighting and pose. Here in Suffolk I have seen quite a lot over the last couple of weeks and been pleased that hopefully they did well last year. I have one that gives me a free opera every evening in the garden, heaven!

It will be a real shame if we were to lose this songster. :toast:

Unusual shot Eric, you asked for ideas on the composition. I think I'd have put the bird lower in the frame, perhaps take the perch down to the bottom right corner. That is providing you have some extra space above it of course. With space at the top it would be great for publication text.

As Robert says, put the bird lower in the frame, mabey even a square crop with the perch coming from the lower right corner.
