I'd like to introduce myself to you guys, been lurking for a while and decided to take the plunge. :wavey: Tell me what you think of this one and promise me you will be gentle! My day job is on tugboats towing barges on coastal runs for the most part so I get to see some interesting things from time to time and occasionally manage to get a photo out of it.
10d, 28-135 Pacific Whitesided playing alongside our tug in the inside passage.

Action. I may like to have seen the whole reflection, but understand you take what you can get. Nice shot. Cliff (the jaws theme needs to be playing....)By the way, hi and welcome.

Jeff,

Killer capture! I love the glassy water and the rapid movement of the dolphin/porpoise cutting thru it. Nicely done, especially considering both of you were moving! I guess the 28-135 IS really helped out with camera shake.

Welcome, Jeff! Great first image - ditto on the still water surround. It really makes this photo work.

Jeff - Welcome, and you're making quite a splash with your first post!

I like the contrast between the glassy water and the spray. Way to be there!!

I looked at this then had to drive into Portland and have lunch and some ale at Laurelwood brew pub....I was thinking about this all day. There is something about the Canon sensors that really set them apart in clarity (and I am a Nikon Guy) from the rest.....this really is an amazing shot and perfect shutter speed!!!

Welcome! :toast:

Great action in this shot. Welcome and keep them coming!

Beautiful shot. Darren, it's funny you mention the clarity of the Canon photos. I have been impressed with the color output and clarity in shots produced from the 10d, even as compared to later canon dslr models. It was something I noticed after perusing photos on pbase.
