Inquisative Jay
I was walking through some local woodland this morning looking for Red Squirrels, I noticed that somebody had thrown down some money nuts and the Jays were coming to get them and flying off tooing and froing, I laid down on the ground with a small hump between me and the nuts,a jay landed and bounded up the hump to see what i was up to and i grabbed the shot

Canon 1D3 500F4+1.4x (crop on RH side to decentralise the bird)

Hmmm
Firstly the Good... I really like this image, the look of the jay, the the sharpness against the FG anf BG is great. I also like the similar colours...

My nit is that the OOF areas have a very busy bokeh which i think detracts from theoverall image...

Hello Dave, I really like this shot, sometimes less is more and with so much diffused background / foreground it really highlights what you see of the bird.

Dave is this the 'new look'? Not where the foxes use to hang out?

Interesting shot Dave, I really like the way that the Oof stuff focusses attention on the subject. I am sure that the camera was probably level but, I think it might look better tipped anti-clockwise a bit. Just my opinion.

Hi Dave,

Very interesting! I like the out of focus foreground and background allowing the attention for the subject, but...
I think a slightly closer crop for more impact would be good.

Also I agree with Eric about a little anti-clockwise rotation!
