Thinking Spring
It's seems by the end of February I'm pretty tired of winter and just can't wait for spring to arrive. So I thought I'd post a few pics from my trip to Colorado last spring. Big thanks to everyone for their help with answering trip planning questions. I had a great time!

The first one is along the trail to Dream Lake.

Laurie: These are all beautiful but #3, Bear Lake Sunset, is a stunner. One of the best images I've seen from Bear Lake, actually.

Good collection. I like #s 2 and 5 too. I really like that Crystal Mill shot: nice green leaves and a slightly lower angle than most people take.

Nice collection! I like #2, the mill, and the last dune shot. Be sure to let us know when you're coming out this year!

Beautiful! I can almost feel the fresh breezes and warm sunshine.

Nice set! Looks like a productive trip. Sunset at Bear Lake, Crystal Mill and the last Dunes shot are my favorites.

Very nice work, Laurie. By the way, what's all that liquid stuff in shots 2-4? I've heard that's what happens when it gets too warm for ice!!

Great images Laurie! I love your sunset at Bear shot.

It looks like the snow was very melted around Bear. Was this late Spring last year?

Your sunset and crystal mill shots are awesome!

Winter's been great so far this year... I say keep it up as long as possible!!!

Laurie, these are great! That Bear Lake sunset is one of the best I've seen, as is your Crystal Mill shot. That last dunes photo is great, too. They're all sweet!

Impressive collection, Laurie! I'm with the others - that Bear Lake shot is a stand-out image!

Thanks guys, I'm really glad you like them. Coming from all of you, that really means a lot!

Kalin, Right now my tentative plan is to come shoot wildflowers in the San Juans July 20-27. I'm hoping to sell my house in Minneapolis and move out of the city this year. So hopefully that won't get in the way. When my plans are set I'll post something to see if anyone will be in the area at the same time. It would be really nice to meet some of you guys.

Guy, Your just to funny! Don't worry, some day you'll see that liquid again. Your not missing anything here in Mpls. Just COOOOOLD weather!!

Derek, I was in RMNP May 29-31. There were very small patches of slushy snow and dry areas as well around Bear Lake. I did see some people walking around in tennis shoes. Sadly, Trail Ridge Road closed at the Many Parks Curve just as I was driving up there and they didn't open it until after I left the park.

Laurie,,,Rarely see a Crystal Mill spring shot,,,,looks great. How did you like the trip into the Mill?

Thanks Don, Glad you liked my "Mill" shot. It does have a different look to it in the spring compared to the fall shots that I've mostly seen of it. I was very lucky to run into Smitty at Crystal River Jeep just as he was leaving the General Store. I didn't realize it was very early in the season and he hadn't opened for the season yet. Anyway, Smitty drove me up there. I took 1 look at that road  and decided NO WAY was I going to drive my rental SUV up there. Worth every penny I paid him! The mill road was the 1st 4wd road I experienced and it was great, as long as I wasn't driving!

Nice take on the Crystal Mill Laurie. I like all of your shots and they sure make me itchy for spring. Thanks for posting these marvelous images.
