I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. So now that I am feeling better, I have decided to procrastinate one more week-end and NOT clean the garage. Instead I am going to Portland to try to learn how to use my camera. I am more of a woodsy girl instead of ocean so would appreciate any ideas of specific hikes to go on to practice technique.

thanks,
Mary

Lots of great woodsy hikes in the gorge, only a half hour east of Portland.

I just read your bio. You might want to check out the Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge on your way down I-5. The south end is auto tour only, and the north end has a hiking trail.

Good to know there is someone here besides me who prefers mountains over oceans :wavey: I have a honey-do list this weekend, or I'd try to meet up with you in the gorge, but I think the general is going to keep me busy this weekend :frown:

I'd shoot for the gorge or head for the waterfalls near Silverton, OR about 1 hour SE from Portland.
