Well I ended up getting home last night in plenty of time to see the eclipse, but I had very thin layer of wispy clouds in the sky which did not prevent us from seeing the eclipse but it was enough so you could not see any detail with a camera and it made the image look out of focus. URRGH! Clouds have done this to me two eclipses in a row!!

Bad luck Jim. I was lucky with the clouds - some cover soon after the full eclipse but cleared again. My 20D just wouldn't stay powered on in the cold, so I didn't get a the sequence I planned to plot the moon's track across the sky as the eclipse progressed. I have quickly thrown together this sequence in PS - shot with 1D2N, 500/4, 2x, MLU and cable release.
Looking forward to seeing more images from people.
I was able to see the eclipse, but was thru a thin layer of clouds. Didn't even try to do any photographs. My luck, after the eclipse was finished the sky cleared to crystal clear. Bummer.

Mark, NICE shots!!! I have a LOT to learn about photographing lunar eclipses. I stayed for the duration photographing every 10 mins with one camera and at certain phases with another camera, and to be honest ALL my shots look out of focus, even the shots that were clear of any clouds. Thinking maybe I should have used my mirror lock-up. Oh well 2010 isn't THAT far off!

Sweet shots Mark! Like the others, I had a thin layer of clouds that prevented me from getting anything sharp.
