Gold crest
One from last year around this time, as some of you probably remember, I had some serious problems with my hard drives last year due to excessive heat, at least two of them failed anyway long story short I thought I would never see these images again, it's taken nearly 6 months but I have managed to find a identical drive and swapped over the control chips and the printed circuit, then mounted it in a external caddy which was also in pieces, that managed to recover 90 percent of what was on the hard drive.

Phillip.

Ps I got the idea to change over the control chips circuit boards from Nick one of the moderators (thanks Nick)

A very nice photo to recover from the disk too - glad it worked for you Phillip .... it's a trick I've used a couple of times to recover drives that have 'died'.

A beautifully detailed shot of one of our smallest birds. Darn difficult to capture.

A hard drive will fail. It's only a matter of time. Hope for the best, anticipate the worst.

Hello Phillip.

Very nice love the setting and the nice warm light on the subjest gives it a nice feel. :wavey:

Hi Phillip,

This is great! I've made a note of who to turn to if I suffer fate with my hard drive (hopefully they won't all go together!)

Glad to hear you managed to recover most of your files, Phil. It is always heart-breaking and downright infuriating when it happens. Lovely light. Amazing you got such a frame filler with such a tiny and flitting subject - well done! :toast: :toast: :toast:
