Traveling back from West Virginia, my path took me by Breaks Interstate Park.... the water pulled me in When I got to this spot though the rocks really worked on me. I moved all around this spot, shooting different colors, shapes and formations of these great rocks.
What do you all think?

Man...This is really beautiful. I like how my eyes follow the large rocks then start picking out all the small colorful ones. The rocks and the water are both very nice, but to be 100% honest I'm not too sure about the vertical rock formation in the BG. IMO it does not flow, my eyes flow through the image, then slam on breaks when I get past the water. (it could also be that its late and I'm tired , I'll have look at it again tomorrow). I do like the wide angle here, and overall I think you did a great job.

Thomas, this is a killer shot. I really like the layering and the many colors. It would also work well as a horizontal image if you cropped it just below the largest rock. Great shot!

Tom,
Nice shot. When I saw this photo I knew exactly where it was from a previous trip. Isn't it strange that a fairly non descriptive photo (as opposed to say the Wave or Bryce Canyon) can take you back to the exact place you stood before, especially if you photographed yourself? I was moved to post a couple of (not so great shots) for your eyes and to show others that physically moving around these rocks was a challenge in itself, much less finding a nice shoot like you did.
Notice the exact same wave and rock overhang on the facing cliff.

Thanks for the comments all!!
David, when where you there? Looks like a good bit less water the day you where there. It had been raining most of the day of my shot.. that really brought the color of the rocks out.
Your right moving around those rocks was a challenge, especially with tripod and camera
Is that not a steep drive in and out of here?

Tom,
Fall of 06 and yeah what a road, we just happened on to it. Seems like a local well kept secret. The whole Breaks area is really nice and full of photo op's. I'm from Louisville, where is Premium, KY anyway? You've got some nice KY shots in your portfolio, makes me feel right at home. We should hook up sometime - I don't find to many KY members here at NPN. I have had the opportunity to meet Tom Barnes on a few occasions, maybe we could tap him for some of his favorite locations. I assume you have heard of him, he is a local expert on native rare and endangered flora and author of "Kentucky's Last Great Places".
