Hey gang, thought I should finaly say, hey, I'm back for now :)
I've been lurking on the board now for about 2-3weeks, I need to renew my NPN Membership, probably at the end of this month, or first thing next month.
I'm off the road now, after 2 years of driving all over the US, I actually lost my job... Was a really bad deal, however I think all things seem to happen for the best, and in this case, getting fired though bad at first, is so far one of the best things that has ever happened. I now have a job working for a small company in Albany, that does a LOT of business with Law Enforcement and the military supplying tactical gear, and accessories... I help in the shipping department, maintain the website, and help out in the office with other tasks... as well as cover the showroom durring the normal guys lunch, and fill in when he's out sick, etc. They keep me pretty busy with all the little tasks.
I've been able to move over to Albany, where I've got a nice little 3rd floor apartment, though spendy (probably one of the more expensive places to live in town), it's only 5 years old, and is very nice, for me at least... the vaulted ceiling is an especially nice touch, as is the room to be able to spread out... The view isn't the greatest, but I can watch the sun rise out my bedroom window, and set out the sliding door in the living room.
I've been out with my camera pretty much every weekend for the last 3 or so weeks... the photography bug has bitten me again, and hard... I can't wait for the weather to really turn nice... I've gotten kind of hooked on Flickr, a friend turned me onto it, and I like some of the features... The ability to post on a map is kind of nice, and see what others are capturing in the same area.
I haven't really done much with my gear, other than I recently got a new digital camera... no more D30 for me, the D30 was/is a great camera, but the 3MP and slow speeds can be a hinderance... I upgraded to a Rebel Xti/400d and I love it... though I wish I could have gone with the 40D but the extra cost just couldn't be justified at the time. Oddly enough I'm discovering with the new camera, some great images, however that my wide angle lens is not as good as it was on my D30, chromatic aberation and low sharpness seems to be more noticable than before.
Anyways, I've probably typed too much... Nice to see some old faces and names on here, as well as a few new ones... maybe can get together with some of you soon... the last outing I went on was quite fun...
