Early evening kiss
Took a side trip today on the drive home from Walsenberg into GoGs. It was about 5:15pm and was hoping to catch some sun on the west facing formations. Darn sun was already behind Pike's Peak  Didn't want to leave empty handed so took this trifle. The sky behind the camels still had bright light so decided to bracket 3 shots -2, 0, +2. Used Photomatix to blend the shots to see if I could replicate what I saw. This looks pretty close and thought I'd share it. Only had my 100mm macro lens with me. Used ISO 100, f11 on AV mode with manual focus.

I was in Walsenburg yesterday, a little later. Yeah, GOG is definitely a sunrise kinda place. Exposure looks good here.

I like the detail and stature of the camels, but I'm not sure about the sky. It seems that the sky and stone are about the same tonality and maybe the rock should pop a bit more. It's a nice blend and I like the puffy white clouds.
