Hi to all,

Should be purchasing a MK111 in the very near future , are there any chassis numbers I should steer clear of???

I've also seen some of you have mentioned Red / Blue spots , what does this relate to???

Regards

If you are buying "brand new" then it should be a blue dot one.Which means they would of put a blue dot on the bar code on the box, to show that the cam has had the sub-mirror fix done at the factory(or has the new sub-mirror instald). There also should be a small white dot in the battery compartment to also say the fix was done(but that might not be the case with a blue dot ?).

There was a list of numbers on the Canon site, but now mostly all the 1D3 are "fixed" they have taken them off.

If you are buying second hand then make sure the owner has the document that says it was fixed. If there is no document then stay away.

What you have to remember there are good and bad "fixed" 1D3 out there.Luckely the one i have is a good one, but i've read alot of unhappy owners out there, that are still having troubles ?.
