And evening too. Had to preserve tradition and swing by the Spanish Peaks yesterday, since i hadnt been down there in a few months.
Wasnt the greatest conditions, and was again frustrated by having all the best comps well behind barbed wire, but i went to a few trusty locations. Here's a sampler. The Great Dikes from the highway stop, will post a B&W conversion on ESS. (1/125 at f/9)

Here's the Peaks, from well behind barbed wire!

One more of the peaks, before the 5 minutes of fleeting color i got at sunset (will post later on ESS).

I'm really liking 1 and 2, Stan. The BW conversion you posted on ES&S is wonderful. You're certainly making the most of your 5D!

yeah, Paul, the honeymoon hasn't worn off yet

That first one is the Devil's Stairsteps. It looks too dark to me, esp. in the ULC. That last one is really nice. I don't expect the honeymoon to end until Canon announces a 5D replacement. The day I ordered my 5D, my Rebel XT suddenly seemed inadequate, and I actually took my RB67 system along with the XT for its final trip.

Im thinking of using my old Rebel as an underwater camera--without the casing, of course!

Nice shots, I particularly like 2 and 3 and the way the color of the grass is echoed by the color in the clouds in 3.

Nice shots Stan!

Stan, these shots are making me drool!

I'm really diggin that first one; looks like some polarizer effects with the dark sky in the upper left? The 3rd one is really nice - love the colors and the overall muted palette.

Thanks guys! Rick--yes, polarizer. Its not as noticeable in the B&W (on ESS) which i feel is a stronger shot.

Nice trio Stan. I've always wondered where the water in your last shot is. Is it the State Park near the peaks? I sorta like the color shot of the dyke more than the B and W except for the sky in the ULC as mentioned. Both are good though. I think I prefer your B and W on this page over the one on ESS.

Great shots! I really like the BW image!

Nice set Stan. #2 is a nice shot and you did a nice conversion. #3 seems slightly underexposed in the foreground. Maybe a levels layer masking off the top to lighten it up would help.
