Canon EOS 1D MKII, 600mm f4 IS, 1.4x conv, f7.1, 1/1250, ISO 400, -1/3exp, Bean Bag on car window, RAW, RSE, CS2, slight crop for comp.
Hi All,
As some of you may have seen from my techs, I have recently upgraded to the 600/4 IS, I was very happy with my older 600/4 non IS, but the newer lens is blowing me away with it's quality, I can easily hand hold it for flight shots, something I could'nt do very well with the old one!.
This Meadow Pipit was pretty secretive last weekend but this morning was much more out in the open, allowing me to get some images on file of a bird I have very little on. The Corn Buntings were singing their hearts out first thing, but I still have no images that I'm that happy with. The Skylarks are starting to pair up and find area's to nest, still not nailed the shot of one hovering and singing though, close but not quite!!
All comments welcome
Regards
Rob

Looks nice and sharp Rob
That early light is a bit contrasty but you look to have handled it well, and the overall colours look nice.
I'd like it a tad more with some more canvass left just to put the eye on the frame centerline, but maybe that's just me with an 'editorial' hat on

Hi Rob,
Very nice detail one this one. Nice perch and background!
Hi Rob
Great job, the pipit stand out nicely from what is a similar tone/colour of background, like the angle of the head too.

Meadow Pipits always difficult but every now and then they put on a little show as this one has done so. Stands out well from the BG. Good portrait shot.

Tis very nice, I'm with Tom here on the sharpening, its only just a tad too far.. might be tempted to tone the contrast down ever so slightly too. Like it though.
