Rook
1D2n, 600mmf4 is x1.4, 1/400s, f7.1, iso 400. Cropped a little from left. Cloned out bright puddle in bg.

Just joined a local bird club and had a great day out. Most of the interesting stuff was too far away for photography in a group, but had great fun trying out the new lens.

Amazing feather detail, looks quite noble for a rook.

Nice shot but the sharpness appears to be on the shoulder and not the eye. They are a hard bird to nail, very wary; there are also an exposure nightmare

Excellent shot, Agree about the focus although it's not terribly obvious.

Although the focus is not on the eye, it is a still a very nice picture and futhermore well exposed.

Hi Ian,

Nice Portrait, with some cracking detail in the feathers. Agree the eye isn't in focus but a nice shot nonetheless. You're getting the hang of that big glass.
