Mather Point Gand Canyon

Hello everyone I returned recently from a trip to Vegas and spent some time in Grand Canyon. The south rim is around 7000 ft elevation and gets pretty cold at night. This is from a nice cloudy morning at Mather Point. If you have ever been to the park this is the first and most popular look out on the south rim.

Gale, nice shot but I did not see that snow when I was out there.! I wondered where you have been hiding out? Welcome back, I look forward to seeing more from your trip.

Gale, this is a nice shot but the pano really tells you a lot about the place. I've never been there so I have to live vicariously through images. Show me more! :smile:

It's good to see you back posting. Compared to most photos I see of the Grand Canyon, yours does a much better job of conveying depth and scale.

Gale, it's odd, I was just looking at your blog last night and wondering where you had been. Great post here. I have a friend living in Vegas that keeps inviting me out. It's been ten years since I went to the Grand Canyon; now I am really thinking I should go.

This sure makes me want to schedule a winter trip to the canyon. Both images are great but I love the wide one.

Hi Gale, I really like the rock shear with the snow detail on it. The panoramic shot I must say feels so much bigger. The canyon leading up to the sky line and the sky, very nice.
