Not a clue... It looks kinda similar to the spring Crocus growing in my wifes flower garden but it's not. I'm hoping one of the flora gurus will ID this early bloomer and get out there with the proper gear to do this little flower justice. I do know it grows from a bulb and when I was there last saturday any flowers that showed damage appeared to be frost related and not from old age so I suspect they bloomed just a few days earlier.

I don't own a macro lens and handheld this docu-shot with an 18-200VR at 200 from the closest it would focus...
when the wind co-operated.

Grass widow, yes. I was up there Saturday too and its not too shabby......this image has a magenta tint on my screen......maybe I am crazy but I do see it!
