Well, I'm a lover of snow, but all it's done here lately is rain so it has me in the spring mood. Today I'm going to scan some 4x5 slides and clean out the hard drive. Before doing so I thought I would share this fawn image taken last spring.
Since it stayed around long enough for me to take about thirty images and walk away I believe I may have been the first human encounter for the little guy/girl. I've never walked up so close to a fawn before and it stay around for so long. I spent at least five minutes taking images and even after I walked away it didn't wander off.
Thanks for looking

I'm more than ready for spring, Robert! Excellent shot... you have eye contact, the fawn is surrounded by it's natural environment, and the exposure is good. A slight crop from the top wouldn't hurt, though, to eliminate the bright area just left of center.

Stunning! I love when that happens.. I have captured one and even with my dog at my side I managed a couple shots before leaving slowly.. What a heart throbbing experience.. Congratulations!

Very cute. Could those ears be any bigger? I agree about the slight crop from the top.
I had a similar encounter last year with a very young fawn. It hung around the edge of our backyard all evening, with no sign of its mother, much to the angst of my wife. I took a few shots, but it was raining and the light wasn't very good. It was gone in the morning. I figure it will come back this spring to dine in our garden.

Great shot Robert. I'm still thinking winter but with the warm weather I suspect I"ll have to change my thinking in the next few weeks.

Thanks for the comments, folks. The crop is a good suggestion.
Scott, I couldn't agree with you more. I always laugh when I see an image of a deer with the ears extended out to their max

They're just like German Shepherds...they have to grow into their ears!
