First, if the editors decide that this is inappropriate, I quite understand.
One of the things that I've always loved about Madison in the winter is the creative way that people use the lakes. For example, we used to have this wonderful kite festival on the ice in February - lots of colors on a white/dreary palette. Right now, a visual artist has a series of penguin statues marching along on the ice. And, there's always the ice shanties, one of which was an art venue this winter. Some of you may recall the image of the State of Liberty sticking out of the ice about thirty years ago, before my time.
It seems that the politicians and their local fans are now using the lakes as there palette, too. To go along with this image, I was driving down the road the other day and saw a bumper sticker that said "Irish Americans for O'Bama," which I thought was quite creative!
Enjoy,
Tim!

As long as this image doesn't start any political wars...it's not a problem, Tim! If it does...then one of us will delete the post.
Good eye, by the way. This would probably go over well in stock photography.

I went to school Blooming ton Indiana in the 70's. I though Blooming ton was bazar until I got to Madison. I know folks of all political views in photography and without exception, all of the folks I've met have had more tolerance and respect for others than some other people I know.
