Hello PNWNP'ers,
I will be making a trip to the Pacific Northwest for the first time ever this coming May, second week to be exact. My wife and I will be staying on Orcas Island in the San Juans. I would greatly appreciate any scenic landscape shooting location tips for Orcas Island that you would be willing to share with a midwesterner.
I focus primarily on making landscape images, both scenic and intimate landscapes. I am expanding my portfolio to include more HOM elements in my scenic images.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Sorry I can't offer any info on your request Wayne since I've never been lucky enough to visit the San Juans and the 63 folks that didn't comment must have been scared off by the CSNP "Moderator-Bomb" From my experience on this board once the ice has been broken everyone jumps in with excellent advice... I hope it works this time!

Hi Wayne - Try Moran State Park and go to the top of Mount Constitution, also Cascade Falls in the same area. Try Rosario Resort for sunrise pics, also North Beach. There is also a covered bridge you can view from Mount Baker Road near Eastsound.
Have fun and enjoy your first visit to the Northwest!

I second going up to Mt Constitution for both sunset and sunrise! The view is amazing from up there!!! Turtleback Mountain also has some beautiful spots on it. The westside of the Island can be nice for sunset. If you happen to be into sea kayaking at all go find "Body Boat & Blade" in the town of East Sound. Shawna & Leone can hook you up with a couple of kayaks and are arguably some of the best kayakers in the state.
