Frost Forest
I took this during the football playoffs while visiting my folk's. No smoking in the house so I went out to the three season room with a tv in it and saw this on the windows. Went to the truck and put my flash on via cord, no bracket and set it on the ground @ various angles, etc. I removed some reflections and cropped some, but I was so cold at the end, actually the cold dictated session length that I really can't give any techs. My bracketing was more of a dial turning & shooting as fast as I could.
I thought it looked kinda cool and if anyone has any frost, reflection, formation, etc. shooting experience that I might use in the future, I sure would appreciate it. All comments welcome. Thanks,BP

I like the idea, Bruce, but I'm not sure this one works as posted. Having never tried this, I don't know what to tell you, other than try shooting in during early/late daylight hours with the sun backlighting the frost?

Hope you don't mind, but I did a screen capture and played with the image a little bit. For starters, you could try to bring up the levels of the image so the frost looks brighter, such as I did. I desaturated the image to get rid of the greenish cast that was showing on my monitor, and cropped it for the most interesting part of the frost itself.

Hopefully others will chime in with ideas as to how to capture images such as this!

Toni, Thanks for the advice and editing. I am a Novice at post-production, so any advice is greatly appreciated. However, I had no options for what time of day or lighting. I just thought the pattern was pretty cool. I hope others have some advice also. Thanks, Bruce

That's true, Bruce...but it's a thought for next time...and the patterns are neat! If you get another chance, try it during daylight hours!
