Blinking 'Awkward'
Thought I would make sure I hadnt lost it! Bored of travel photography, thought I would process one I flagged from the archives.

A Heath Fragrant Orchid from last summer, do you know I nearly drove back the 110miles just to get this pair in full flower as I had never seen such an artistic duet. The leaves were so utterly complimentary and with such poise.

This deeper and richer pink variety of this beautiful and delicate plant is only found in a few places in Cornwall, a much smaller example than its' New Forest commrades which are often double the height. Lots of the other plants I found in this gathering were in thick ground level prickles and other dried out surroundings making them near impossible to photograph hence the warm yellowy look to the background. I knelt for a long time preparing and pruning, only to find out later on my knees were red with some horrid reaction to the scrub. The price we pay sometimes....

Nothing much to add here, Dave. It's perfect and well worth the 110 miles drive!

Cheers,
Marko

Lovely image and processing as usual david. Must have been a warm day as unless you were wearing shorts, it must have been one hell of a poison ivy to get through to your knees!
Worth it though.

Absolutely wonderful image. I'm not a huge fan of plant shots, but this is so simple and effective it could make me change my mind.

Yeah Dave I am. But work took another turn this year and I don't have nearly as much time as before.

Cheers,
